The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala, also known as the “Oscars of the fashion world” has come and gone once again. This year’s theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass” – the exhibition of the same name (curated and organized by longtime MET curator Andrew Bolton) looks at China’s influence on western fashion and opens this month.
There was glamour, there was edginess, and there was (of course) ridiculousness on the red carpet. All courtesy of celebrities, models, designers and anyone else who was either a guest or paid the hefty sum of $25,000 for a ticket!

Well, now that this summer has flown by and I have decided to stop being m.i.a, it’s time to see what has been happening in the world of fashion (and celebrity) these last few months.
My last post was in May, a little after the MET Gala occurred. Let’s see…since then the CFDA fashion Awards have taken place, along with the Cannes Film Festival, then came a bunch of movie premieres and some not-so-exciting awards shows such as the Teen Choice and MTV VMA’s, Comic Con also took place back in July (where we sometimes see a few fashion hits), as did Paris Couture Week (yay) and more recently, the Emmys.
See below for some of my favourite looks from the aforementioned events:
August: Emmy Awards
May, June, July & August: Movie Premieres, Awards, etc, etc. (I guess this could be categorized as miscellaneous!)
July: Comic Con
July: Paris Couture Week
June: CFDA Fashion Awards
May: Cannes Film Festival
