The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala, also known as the “Oscars of the fashion world” has come and gone once again. This year’s theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass” – the exhibition of the same name (curated and organized by longtime MET curator Andrew Bolton) looks at China’s influence on western fashion and opens this month.
There was glamour, there was edginess, and there was (of course) ridiculousness on the red carpet. All courtesy of celebrities, models, designers and anyone else who was either a guest or paid the hefty sum of $25,000 for a ticket!

Want to score a stylish item from the closets of your favourite Canadian bloggers? What about possibly finding something cool from the closet of THIS particular blogger?
Well, I’m happy to let you know that you’ll have a chance to do just that!
Presented by FASHION Magazine, Trend Trunk and Style Democracy, Blogger Fashion Week (#BFW) gives fashion addicts across Canada a chance to shop the closets of 100 of Canada’s emerging and established bloggers. Already underway (started May 5th and ends May 11th), you only have a few more days left to head to BloggerFashionWeek.com and see what goodies I, along with other awesome bloggers, have put up for sale. Some of us will also be donating a percentage of the proceeds to our favourite charity, (mine is the Toronto Humane Society) thanks to Trend Trunk’s Closets & Causes Program.
“We’re looking forward to helping bloggers grow the relationship with their fans and followers through this unique campaign. It’s extremely exciting to be launching our second Blogger Fashion Week right here in Canada with such an amazing group of bloggers and sponsors!” – Sean Snyder, Founder and President of Trend Trunk.
Also, thanks to Milestones Canada, when you vote for your favourite blogger (you will see a share/vote button on the top right of their closet’s page), you will have a chance to win a $50 Milestone’s gift card for yourself and another $50 gift card for that blogger. Fashion, shopping, charity and a chance to win free stuff? Sounds great, right? So make sure to check out BloggerFashionWeek.com, especially this Saturday, May 10th, when my closet will be featured.
